What model HMV is this?

I was interested by what looks like a big horn in one of the pictures. Anyone know anything about this model?

It could be either a 161 or 171 from 1926 with the "saxophone" horn.

Thanks! Any idea how these sound as compared to the ortophonic machines?

A lot of lesser bass, a pronounced mid-range and... loud :D

From the point of sound not to compare with a ortophonic machine.

The graph c (1926) is from such a "saxophone" horn machine (d from a reentrant horn), according to a contemporary article.

Excellent site, Thanks. I could not find where this very useful chart came from? but I did find a Rene Dumont discography which I have been searching for, for years.
