Distressed Nickel Plating

Post by Shawn »

Folks,

I just received a horn back from Nashville Plating Service. Ron Satterfield has developed a "distressed" nickel plating technique. I am really pleased with the results. My horn looks "old". It does not have the bright nickel plating that you get from any other plating service. It reminds me of the watts nickel plating that was done years ago. There are even slight imperfections that mimic age.

I have never met Ron and he's a man of few words in email, but his work is very good. The turn-around on my horn was a couple of weeks - exactly what he promised. If you are looking for something other than the bright nickel you normally find, you might want to give Ron a try.

Sounds very interesting! Would it be possible to post a picture of the new finish?

Thanks - Scott
