Hi, I recently moved and the only casualty I haven't been able to correct is one of my Pathé reproducers. The needle got jammed up in the needle bar and I have no idea if there is a way to get it unstuck/out. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd hate to buy a new reproducer if there is a way to get the old needle out.
Thanks
Dan

Re: Help with a Pathé reproducer stuck needle
I can't really see what the matter is from the one picture provided. A profile picture might help. Is that a thumbscrew I see on the needle bar? Every Pathé stylus that I've ever seen has a "head" on the shank that would seem to prevent any possibility of the shank being shoved completely up into the needle bar. Most Pathé needle bars hold the stylus shank inside a split tube using a cap that can screwed off. Once the cap is completely unscrewed and removed, you may see a way to remove the shank from that split tube. Perhaps a very fine jewellers screwdriver can be inserted in the slits of the tube to lift the shank out.

The needle seems to be broken, and it does not look like there is a protruding piece that you could pull with pliers. The screw that holds it is not the original one, but if you can unscrew it I suggest you try to stick a fine sowing needle in it and try to push the shank out. However, since the bakelite arm that holds the needle bar seems to be cracked from the photo, I would not waste time on it, it looks pretty hopeless, unfortunately.

Perhaps a soldering iron could provide some heat to the bar to expand it, thus allowing the stuck needle to come out.
