Nice playing 8-30X (minus reproducer and power cord) with 3 original Tungs-Tone tins, original bottle of motor oil, and original tube of grease.
Induction disc motor operates smoothly with no issues.
The original pot metal tone arm bracket that was cracked, was replaced with one from JAS Antiques with new tone arm ball bearings.
Original grill cloth in good shape and all bun feet in tact and complete.
Just add your reproducer and power cord for an excellent playing and sounding machine!

I borrowed a power cord (available from JAS Antiques on eBay for $40) and a reproducer from another machine.
I can deliver this phonograph to the Wayne, NJ spring show for free or safely store long term for pick up in Newton, NJ, if paid for now.
Again, you will need a power cord and reproducer to complete this unit.
First to PM with "sold" owns it.
Thanks for looking.

A beautiful and fantastic-sounding machine for this price! I have 3 electric Credenzas, or would snap this up immediately.

I agree. The cabinet seems to need very little work, and the two parts that need to be replaced (assuming a non-brass soundbox) should still allow this to be brought home at a very reasonable cost. A very nice example.

Gene,
Does a reproducer come with it? If not, would you take $200 and I'd so would you take $275? I could pick it up in next couple days. It's slightly a low offer but I just want it's guts to put in my beautiful empty tooled leather cabinet. I actually have two empty cabinet.

Way too nice a machine to be chopped up in my opinion. Just saying.Victrola-Monkey wrote:Gene,

Wes, I'm thinking the same thing. Except for the reproducer, this is a complete and working machine that needs a little work on the top (and not a bad price either considering the extras it comes with).downsouth wrote:Way too nice a machine to be chopped up in my opinion. I can see it now in the Yankee Trader section... "for sale 8-30x cabinet, great shape, just needs parts".

No offense intended toward Victrola-Monkey (or anyone else), just my opinion.

Re: FOR SALE: Victor Orthophonic Victrola 8-30X - $350
Gee wiz, I meant that to be a pm. Gene kindly turned down my offer and I agree with the fact this machine is too nice to chop up. I have been able to extract the horn while preserving the cabinet before, however. I just think that is terrible someone gutted my tooled leather credenzas and have a general belief that it is ok that a lesser machine can sacrifice itself to bring back a rarer machine. I've been on the look out for rough donors. Gene's machine is far from rough and I know it was wrong of me to consider it, even if I could get it at a "rough" price level. My post did initiate a fellow members offer for machines more suitable for my needs.
