New Addition 10-50

Post by gemering »

I picked this Victor 10-50 up in Northeast Pennsylvania about two weeks ago.
It is by far, the heaviest machine I've ever moved.
When I woke up the day after bringing it home, I thought I must be crazy for buying it and listed it in the Yankee Trader section.
After being listed for an hour or so, I realized that it needed to stay here with me.
Although I was very happy with the price, it is a bit of a project, in that the top needs refinishing, the record books were not present, the record changer suffers from the usual pot metal problems, and some odds and ends are missing.
With a little telephone advice from Chuck A, I got it working as a victrola (without the record changer operating) for now. Additional conversations with Bob Barnett and Mike Devecka have convinced me that I can bring this 10-50 back to its former glory.
It sounds awesome!
Thank you for looking.

All comments, criticisms, and suggestions humbly taken under advisement.

Gene, Good luck with that great machine. I bought one from Chuck, many years ago---and he delivered it and set it up---knows what he is doing. I had to sell it, a few years ago----reluctantly, along with a 2-door Credenza with a brass repro. The 1050 was one strong and nicest sounding machines, I owned. It went to a good home and was told, it is played frequently. Hey, are you going to Pittsburgh soon--need a Emerson moved, Ha Ha---Karl H. said Hello. --Herb
