A rather nice C19 listed on eBay from New Jersey, for a pretty nice price. (Just missing the stylus.)

I wonder why a project machine like this is not listed on craigslist? (maybe it is) Jerry B.

That is way over priced. There was a very nice renovated 19 at the Orlando show last year for under $300.

That's odd, I thought they were appraised at between $300 and $500.

I had a mahogany C-19 listed in the Yankee Trader last year, in better condition, with original grille cloth, and in playing order, with delivery to Wayne offered, dropped the price to $300 with nary a nibble.Benjamin_L wrote:BwanaJoe wrote:That is way over priced. I think the market is still kind of soft on these... the early ones (C-250) seem to generate more interest.

Re: Edison C19 on eBay.
A buyer can expect to pay $100 or more for the rebuilding of the reproducer. Also the new owner can expect to spend hours cleaning & polishing the cabinet. The whole outfit looks as if it just came out of a barn. The mechanism probably needs to be serviced. I didn't look to carefully but the cabinet is propped up on one front corner because of a missing caster. An attractive and fully functional machine may appraise at $300 to $500 but not a project. This machine is a project. Jerry Blais"That's odd, I thought they were appraised at between $300 and $500."

I picked up my project 19 for $75. Took a lot of elbow grease and part hunting to make it, I think, a nice little phono. And yep, new Bruce diamond and new Larry diaphragms cost $120 with labor.Jerry B. wrote:A buyer can expect to pay $100 or more for the rebuilding of the reproducer. Re: Edison C19 on eBay.
I couldn't agree more, and to put things in perspective, I bought a complete and operational very late C 19 a few months back for under $200. Other than a partially stripped lid top (maybe I'll tend to it someday), it only needed a light cleaning, no mechanical servicing whatsoever, and is my best sounding D.D. They're really nice machines. (I would've thought they wouldn't go under $300, so one in rough shape for $200 would be an okay price.) I wonder why they've dropped in price?
I remember one a while ago that sold for $700 in good shape here in Nashville.
