Recently I decided to play this particular Little Wonder record, "Ten Little [n****rs]", from my collection after not playing it in more than 20 years. I have a fairly large collection of Little Wonder records but this one I've always kept safe and separate from the rest of the collection simply because of the title.
Anyway, on mounting the record I noticed that it needed to be pushed down with a little force to seat it properly onto the spindle of one of my Victor M's.
That was the first mistake I made.
When the record finished playing I realized it would not come off the turntable as normal so I slowly turned the record while gradually lifting at the edges in a cautious effort to release the record from its hold on the spindle.
In spite of my careful efforts the record suddenly and unexpectedly cracked and I am completely and utterly sick about it realizing that this is not one of the more readily available Little Wonder selections.
That was the second and most devastating (to me anyway) mistake I made. I seldom make stupid mistakes like this and in all of my years of safely removing stubbornly stuck 78's from spindles this is the first time this has happened and wouldn't you know it had to be this record.
I contacted Merle Sprinzen but she has only one copy in her collection so I'm reaching out here hoping that one of you will have the record and be willing to sell or trade it.
I included a picture below of my (now irreparably cracked) record so that you may see the label. Please PM or email me if you have a copy.
Thanks,
Doug
