There Will Be A Victrola In Our Home For Christmas

Post by gramophone78 »

After receiving a call from my ad and a four hour drive later...a new machine has been added to the collection.

Interestingly, this is a Canadian Berliner sold Victrola XX.

Although, I tried to convince my Wife to remove our tree this year for this....that was not going to happen.

I Was able to have my Son help me place it next to the tree for Christmas pics.

So,I guess there will be a Victrola in our home for Christmas this year...:D.

Merry Christmas to all from Canada!!!.

Wayne,
Looks like yours has the gilded carvings... mine doesn't. I wonder how many might have been made each way?

Wow, that XX is absolutely beautiful! Just curious, what is the serial number? I know they didn't make very many of these.

Merry Christmas,
Steve

It's in the very low 5000's. According to the website, it's not the lowest. I have been looking at pics of others today and I have not found one with a "Patent Applied For" decal in the horn. I have seen this on flat top Pooleys. There is also what appears to be "VTLA" written inside and in chalk 553XX.

Hi Wayne,
Nice machine. My XX has "Patent Applied For" in the horn. I believe that Patent Applied For is also in every Dome top VTLA as well. Certainly the last two that I have had. John
