This sort of attitude makes my blood boil! I hope this machine never sells. I added the boldface type.

Here is the link: http://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/atq/5364203801.html

You have to bid before you have the privilege/honor of viewing it. And if you should be so daring as to ask how many records are included with or without a bid, your email is going directly, without hesitation, to trash. Not to mention that Elma is only 90 miles from the population centers of Seattle and 120 from Portland.

This should be reported- Craigslist isn't an auction site.

As the current high bidder ($40.02), I have received the following in an e-mail from the sellers:*

If you are selected by our unique free-market methodology as the purchaser of this phonograph, please keep in mind the following conditions of sale:

1. We will contact you by e-mail at the conclusion of the auction, which will end when we feel like it. At that time you will be given our address and an exact time at which you should arrive to pay us (in cash only, unmarked bills) and collect the item. Any deviation by more than five minutes from the exact hour at which we expect you to arrive will cancel your right to purchase, and the opportunity you have squandered will be given to the next-highest bidder.

2. Do not divulge our address to anyone. Do not tell anyone where you are going.

3. While in our presence, do not attempt to engage us in conversation about anything at all, including the provenance and history of the phonograph, or the weather. If you do, you will be asked to leave and the opportunity you have wasted will be offered to the next highest bidder.

4. You may not examine the phonograph before you pay us for it. You may not attempt to wind it, play it, or otherwise tamper with it before it is paid for. Once you hand over the bag of cash, the phonograph will become yours, and you can play with it to your heart's content in your own damn home. Once payment is made, you will be expected to remove the phonograph from our premises within one-hundred-and eighty (180) seconds. Any delay, for any reason whatsoever, will cancel the sale, and your money will be forfeited. We will then move on to the next highest bidder.

5. No, you may not use our bathroom. Any request to do so will void the sale.

6. Please memorize all the above conditions before you arrive. You will be asked to recite them before we allow you to enter the house. If, in our judgement, which shall be conclusive, your recitation fails to meet our expectations, you will not be allowed to enter, and no, we will not bring the phonograph to you at the front door. You will leave empty-handed, and it will serve you right.

Thank you for your interest in our phonograph. Good Luck!
