Removing horn slats?

Post by benjaminh »

How do you remove the wood horn slats from a Victrola? Are they just glued in with hide glue, so you can use heat and water?

This is an earlier vv-iv; it has a complettely wood horn. I figured out that the slats are trapped between the two case sides. After case dissasembly the slats just come out easily. Thanks for your help.

Benjamin,

I constructed new slats on a IV in which they were missing. See my pics and post below..."Slatless IV resurrected".
They actually need to be flexed to get them out. But it looks like you already solved the issue.
