Schoolhouse Victrola VV-XXV on MO CL

Post by mattrx »

This is not my machine, and I have no affiliation with the seller. I just wish I had the money to buy it, but I do not. Schoolhouse VV-XXV, later style with smooth horn on CL in Springfield, MO.

32 records are available as well for $400.00. Most records are from the 40's and 50's and would sell online for $20-50 a piece.
That part I seriously doubt. But the machine is a good buy for someone in the area.

Yes, those "Rare" Harry James and Xavier Cugot albums... they're scarcer than Berliner discs !

How many school phonographs are in there original, when new location. I know of one, it is very nice it is still in it's original school, the building built in 1887, and the machine purchased about 1918.

I think Jerry was making a good faith effort to help me or another forum member out with the price of the listing. Jerry already has one, if not two of these. I just don't have that kind of spending money right now or I would have taken the seller up on the price myself. ;)

I have an identical one and two of anything doesn't make a collection more interesting. Just don't ask why I several big Amberolas because they provide good cylinder storage. ;)

When I started collecting back in the Nixon years, the School Model Victor and the Victor VI had a very similar value. It's interesting that the school machine has not kept pace with the Victor VI. Jerry
