Needle type reproducer of Edison Manufacture?

Post by Valecnik »

I don't think so. The body appears to be that off a a victrola no. 2 with the Normal "Victor Talking Machine co. Camden, NJ & patent dates" stamped onto the back. The Edison trademark and "Edison Disc" are painted on the front. It came with an A250. It looks professionally done.

Looks like they were trimmed off a piece of printed material- but that's a better than average adapter.

It is likely 3rd party make where someone wanted to have the Edison logo to appear on the reproducer too. Nevertheless, it should play fine. The Edison Needle Type reproducers have an aluminum diaphragm and look quite different.

Does the reproducer pictured in Valecnik's post have a conical diamond stylus in the chuck?
