Good folk on this forum will not be confused, but it is still important I think to point out that this item is a complete fraud/fake and that the advertising is extremely misleading.

The vendor has carefully added the word "type" which will not confuse anyone who knows a little about the subject but others might possibly be let astray ?
This confection is a total disaster from almost every point of view. The horn is not only unattractive/unstable but will not work due to incorrect shape and various inept expansions/contractions of diameter. The internal conduit is also incorrectly contrived. The tonearm and case have nothing whatever to do with EMG/Expert and the seller talks of a Meltrope soundbox.
Apart from that, there are no problems !!
Caveat emptor !

The world of EMG/Expert is small but knowledgeable (as I have discovered!) so hopefully no-one will be fooled. That horn probably covers a multitude of sins, and an x-ray of it's construction would be interesting to see.

The issues are obvious, but someone went to a lot of trouble - I'd like to hear this.

Looks like it will only play 10" or smaller records. They should reduce the price by half.

Yes indeed---someone has gone to a lot of effort to create this machine and I apologise if my comments have detracted from this endeavour. I was really just trying to ensure that the unwary are not caught out with the references to EMG/E M Ginn whose instruments reproduce sound in a uniquely magical way which is entirely dependent upon the careful use of exact and very scientifically designed construction.estott wrote:The issues are obvious, but someone went to a lot of trouble - I'd like to hear this.
