Is that a weird-looking horn, or just the perspective of the photo?

Radio horn . . . Operas always had wooden horns (with the sort-of exception of the Opera-like 'School' Phonograph).

But a hearty handshake and $xxxx would get a nice Don Gfell horn that would still make it a good buy... depending how far over $2500 you'd have to go.

If they're selling an Opera phonograph and aren't aware of the wrong horn, or are hiding the fact, I'd be a bit suspicious of other problems with the machine.
