Question about Victor IV back bracket

Post by howardpgh »

In the picture shown, is there supposed to be a gasket or some type of sealer where the taper tube and bracket meet?
I borrowed the picture from another post about a Victor restoration.

I assume you are talking about the location where largest diameter of the arm meets the the back bracket. Nope. Any sealant would inhibit the arm from rotating. same thing for the elbow side, no sealant. Many use a light film of lubricant to help them rotate and reduce wear. John
