To prevent a repetition of the controversy provoked by the claim in your first thread, a/k/a "DISC FOR SALE", http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... 14&t=25007, would you please do us all a favor and play the damn thing, thereby removing any doubt? Yeesh.

This particular disc appears to have been played - there are obvious lines etched in the center area by a diamond stylus. However, it is also in excellent condition. Several of your items DO appear to be unplayed by acoustic machines, as far as I can tell from your pics. The violin & piano discs sold today would have been $50-75 minimum bids on Nauck; somebody got a bargain, today.

I'm sorry if I was, perhaps uncharacteristically, snarky in my previous comment. My beef (if I had one) was with the all caps TOLD in the headline. C'mon now, it's the condition of the records that's important here, not some phonographic droit du seigneur, (which is not a thing we have in the USA, unless we happen to be Martin Shkreli and we collect Wu-Tang records...but I digress). No reason to push it. Your records are in great shape, the titles so far are good ones, and that's plenty enough to make them desirable. I think you'll have good luck with them on their own merits, and I hope you do.

Ah yes, "droit du seigneur". I had to look that up. It's good to be the King!

Thanks Fellas, I do appreciate the feedback. I will refrain from using "never been played" or variations of it (TOLD...) in future auctions. I'm not looking to deceive or otherwise trick anyone into buying from me. Saw it on another auction and assumed it was best way to describe any needle wear. I realize that the records are not new. And sitting in a basement for 80 years means they are not mint. I try and be honest and open with condition of each one. The guys on the forum being collectors I can see how I have gotten off on the wrong foot with some. I'm just a non-collector who has a lot of records to sell looking to get fair prices. Ill respond to a couple other comments here as well. On another thread it was looked at as suspicious that I am selling on more than one account. I have three in fact and my brother two(he is selling with me) so essentially five total. Being a new seller on ebay I am limited to 10 listings per month. Slow process when I have so many to sell. I combine shipping on any of the five and despite some questioning my shipping costs I can for sure say that I am not making any extra on the shipping. Hope this answers some questions and puts me in better standing with those on this forum.

I'm curious why these 5 eBay sellers all from Grand Prairie, recently registered, and appear to be selling Edison records from the same source:

Stirlinbradle
Stirlinbradle-0
DiamondDiscJock
JFB16
RecordBuck1

Did a truck full of Diamond Disc records explode in Grand Prairie and everybody in town now has some for sale?

Same seller?
