I know it's odd but, this little wire has helped out a lot.
What I do is thread the long end through the cord loop, hook it, then drop it through the weight. After which I use a pick to hook the end to the stylus bar. I found this out my self, although it may be an old hack.

Its a good idea.. Its similar to what I was suggested a long time ago to use round wooden tooth pick and push a bit of the end down onto a hard surface to cause it to bend forming an "L" shaped end. Then fish the linkage loop up though the weight and over the stylus. Basically the same idea but yours brings the loop up though the weight a bit easier I would guess. If your like me though I end up missing getting the loop over the stylus bar and still have to go back to fishing the linkage up..
