Edison LC-38 Value?

I'm just curious as to the value of the LC-38 Edison Diamond Disc Phonograph. I've come across one that is in very nice condition and I want to make an offer but I am unsure as to what a reasonable price is on this phonograph. I honestly have never seen this model before in person, is it rare? Any help would be very much appreciated.

This is a common machine that shows up on Craigslist in basically OK shape for $100 or so from time to time. This is from the last series of machines before the Edisonics and as such, Edison was cutting costs as much as possible on these.

Unless you are particularly interested in this model, you would be better served by spending a bit more money any buying any of the various medium or large uprights.

Yes I was afraid it was a common machine. I was just intrigued by it because the one I am considering is in pristine condition; it looks brand new. It also has a celluloid dealer plate below the Edison decal which states it was sold in Middletown, CT. But I guess I might reconsider, considering I don't have much space left for floor models.

I might get one if the price were no higher than $300 and it was in the condition you describe. You won't get as good a sound from it as an Edison Lab model as it has the small no. 100 horn, but I always liked the dual grille and the deco grille design on these. Being a London model means it was made more cheaply than say a Chippendale model, so you have to be extra gentle with moving these. I bought one once and tried to put it in the back seat of a car and it started breaking apart!
