A selection I have always found interesting for its scynopation and variety of featured instruments. Especially the latter day playing of the Xylophone, a rather timeless version. Using my True Tone Diaphragm and The new Bruce Diamond Stylus.

Re: Fascinating Rhythm, Green Bros Novelty Band,
Larry, I have this one but a different take. Definitely a fave. Speaking of the xylophone feature, just listened to green bros on you tube doing I Want to be Loved by You on Edison electric. Neat sonic comparison.

Re: Fascinating Rhythm, Green Bros Novelty Band,
Hi Bill,
I did just listen to the "I want to be Loved By You" version and then mine again.. Not exactly sure how your comparing them but I hear a naturally more bass due to the electrical recording but it displays some of that muddy sound of electrics as well. Personally I find most good acoustic versions project the instruments in a different way and usually more distinctly. Just curious.

Re: Fascinating Rhythm, Green Bros Novelty Band,
I love the Green Brothers... They are known for using a lot of Xylophones in their songs..
Interesting song, I've never heard this one. Was it ever made for cylinder?!?? I checked the USCB list and could not find it.. so I guess that it was a DD only release..but I am just guessing here.

I checked Sutton's Blue Amberol book and no, it was not released on BA at all.NEFaurora wrote:I love the Green Brothers... They are known for using a lot of Xylophones in their songs..
