FOR SALE: EARLY EDISON SHAVER-$700

Post by Phono-Phan »

I have for sale a very nice early Edison shaver. It has the original collection pan with a brass dealer tag on it. I replaced the missing leather belts with rubber O-rings. Take a look at the pictures and contact me with any questions. Price is $700 with free delivery to the Union show if prepaid. Otherwise actual shipping charges will need to be added.
Thanks!!

Nearly identical to the one I have!

Is there any fine adjustment screw for the blade? Mine has none.

I don't believe these had a fine adjustment screw.

They do not have a fine adjustment screw. You just make 2 or 3 passes at the last setting to get the best surface.

I have both the large wooden shaver that looks like a Triumph with a drawer, and this model. Which came out first, the wooden one or, the cast iron model shown? Was the cast iron one a basic one, and the wooden one a deluxe version?

My understanding is that the 1905 Shaver in the triumph like case was made for the business machine market and that the cast iron version was a cheaper model made for the general public.

Thanks for the info, Rich. I don't want to hijack this thread, so I am going to start a new one in the Machines section
