Hey Guys,
That gizmo is not right if it is what I think it is? That long piece don't even belong with it. I have a friend that has one of these, and it is meant to put a Victor Horn on a Edison. I have a picture somewhere, I'll try to find it. Here is one I was working on. Not a very good picture but you get the idea if it's the same gizmo.

While I can't speak with authority on the Keen attachment mentioned in the original post, the one you are referring to is not the same. Your photo is of a Phon-Arm attachment, made by the Chicago Stand Company from 1907-1908. A person buying this attachment could have used a Victor horn, but most likely would have used an aftermarket horn which would give the buyer lots of color and design options instead of a typical black only or black and brass horn. This attachment was made for the Edison Standard, Home and Triumph. There were plans to make these for certain model Graphophones, but Columbia produced their own tonearm Graphophones around the same time.

As to how well this attachment might work, I would think that it would put extra stress on the feed screw and nut. But this is just a guess. Just thought it was an interesting piece of phono history. Jan

I wasn't sure but I wouldn't pay what it is at now? It just don't look right.

It looks odd that the short tonearm piece is facing to the left with a long tube connecting to another tube and then to the reproducer. What would be the purpose to extend the connection? It makes more sense to have a direct connection from the tonearm to the reproducer, like the Phon-arm. I did not find any patent info on this Keen attachment.
