FOR SALE: Edison 1A Reproduction Manuals

Post by Dustie89 »

Here are reproduction Edison 1A instruction manuals. We bought a 1A that had the original manual with it. We had copies made by a publishing company. These are a little darker grey then the original was, but the publishing company told us the original was faded a little. Neat piece to go with your 1A or for your research.

Selling them for $16.00 each for forum members. Shipping is included in price for US shipping. We have them on EBay, but they are higher.

Just PM me with preferred payment method and address if you would like one. Included below are some pictures.

Thanks
Dustin Ellis

Me too! PM sent.
Interesting how the manual suggests removing and discarding the cylinder container lids when stored in the drawers! (fifth picture down)

Hi Dustin,
FYI paper generally darkens with age getting a yellow tint, unless it is exposed to the sun, in which case colors lighten faster than black or gray. If any of the pages received sun exposure they would be lighter than pages that were not exposed and, therefore, they would stand out as bleached. I am sure the printer did not want to take it on the chin in redoing the job and also did not want to have you think he did less than a proper job. The problem with a darker gray back ground is contrast suffers on photos etc. If one can see all the detail in the prints, there is no real problem. If there is a problem and at some point you do reprint this in the future, I will be glad to buy a second improved copy.

All of that said, I am very glad you have made this available and you have my sincere thanks and I am sure every one will agree you are to be commended.
Thank you most kindly,
Allen

Thanks Allen for the info. I gave the publisher the original and entrusted him. It had some tears and severe creasing. I'm sure that played a part in the color difference too when he was doctoring it. If you would like a copy, PayPal would be best. Email is [email protected]. Just shoot me a PM please. That's how I've been keeping track.

Thanks
Dustin
