Hope everyone is enjoying a nice 4th of July Holiday weekend!

I finally found some time to make a video of my 1898 Nickeled and Polished Columbia Eagle Type B Graphophone I mentioned in the Forum listing here: http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... =9&t=20531
that needed spring barrel screws.

I have yet to get this Eagle to play a cylinder to my satisfaction so this video does not include playing a cylinder but I thought some of you might enjoy seeing the video that I made this morning anyway.

These are wonderful machines to look at but a drawback to owning one is keeping everything lubricated while still trying to maintain the lovely shiny nickel! No matter how hard one tries to put just a teeny bit of oil on the gears it seems to always drip somewhere. :( Same thing is true with my Columbia AB!

Here is the video. I hope that some of you enjoy it. I included some still pictures at the end.

Wow, what a beautiful machine. I guess it's like with everything in life, if you've got the looks then it doesn't matter if you don't work that well 8-) I would not worry too much about that, it's probably not a daily player anyway. But what a looker...

Thanks for sharing!

Thank you sincerely for all of the gracious comments. I'm going to investigate soon why she's not playing so well (speed is not consistent and the belt and tension seems spot on) but until then I do appreciate the nice comments.

What a beautiful machine. I'm surprised there is not a warning label on the lid suggesting sunglasses be worn when the lid is removed on a sunny day. ;)

What was the price bump up for the snazzy finish?

The Nickeled and Polished Eagle was $5.00 more - 50% of the base price of $10.00 for an Eagle.
