New (for me) Victor Trivia

Post by Ripduf1 »

Hi all. First of all, I consider myself fairly well armed and dangerous when it comes to knowledge regarding the Victor product line. But as we all know - we learn something new everyday. I am attaching an image of a door knob to an early (ser 2394) Dome top VTLA which I just picked up. While cleaning and removing the knobs I find this set has a spike or pin to prevent the knob from rotating. I have had three or four of these dome top VTLA's in my collecting career and I do not recollect ever seeing this feature before. Likely to have been short lived anyway due to increased manufacturing costs and lack of necessity. Just the door knobs have the spike, not the shelf or back door knob. You will also notice the head of the screw with flange has a notch in it - never saw that before either. John
