Looking for a Brunswick motor/main spring?
New to the board here, I use to be a member over at sonoraman but that site went out. I have 3 phonographs, 2 cheneys and a sonora. Anyways, I have a friend that has a brunswick model 207 phonograph, that has a beautiful case but wouldn't wind, I was hoping the mainspring just popped off the spindle but it is snapped. I was wondering if anyone out there has one?? or If someone can repair it that would be just as good. Thanks.

I've got an extra brunswick motor that I bought for parts. I'll have to check when I get home, but it's a three or four spring model - although I've already used one of the springs for another machine. aside from that, the governor needs repair. but it's got at least two good springs in it, already loaded in barrels. if you're interested, let me know. new springs probably cost about $25 or $30. you can have the whole thing for $40, which will include postage. email me at brianu73 at hotmail.com or send me a message through the board. I can try to snap a photo as well if you like.

Hi Cooljay, I like your avatar. Wonder how many here recognize what it's from. It's the Fisher Radio logo from the famous US hifi manufacturer. Are you also into early electric phonos or hifi gear?
Collecting moss, radios and phonos in the mountains of WNC.

Thanks, I would hope a lot of people but I am sure a lot don't recognize it but I am sure there are a few that don't it is the famous Fisher logo, believe its a sparrow with a music note. Yes I am for sure into early electronics and hifi gear. I have tons and antique radios and tubes. I am pretty much out of room for phono's and console radios but I can still fit a amp or table top radio in somewhere.gregbogantz wrote:Hi Cooljay, I like your avatar. Anyone know of a place to get a new spring from? Theres a motor on ebay but I can't see paying 50$ for shipping. Or would it be easy to punch a new hole in the old spring?
