UK Edison Machine Brochure

Post by Gramtastic »

I have recently bought a couple of interesting advertising brochures for Phonographs. In the UK we don't seem to come across these very often so I thought I'd share them here. It is interesting that a Triumph was 5 times as much as a Gem, a Home 4 times and a Standard twice as much. A Concert was the price of over 7 Gems ! Can anyone give a date for the adverts based on the models shown ?

Hi, according to the good old internet £1 in 1902 was worth $4.87 so the £2 2 shilling Gem would be about $10.2 - presumably about the same ?
