Call Me Lucky...Needles ???

Post by gramophone78 »

Some may think I'm making this up as I go. However, I can prove this with a pic. Why would any company name their Phonograh needles in such a way..???. Afterall, these are not condom packets one is buying...or is that 'getting' lucky..??....

Could it be a play on the word "lucky" from Lucky Lindy..??. Just speculation on my part.

I just had to buy this. It will require a little restoration. Still, a very unusual item.

Has another member seen this product before..??.

I think I recall having a 78 record the 's label was Harmony I wonder if that same co. might have made or marketed needles.

Your correct Allen. A member was kind enough to post a pic of a Harmony "Lucky" needle tin. I don't think these are related, but share the word 'Lucky'.
"Call Me Lucky" needles does not seem to be the right descriptive name (see attached). "Call Me Garbage" seems more appropriate... .

Would anyone like some to try on their nice records.??.. ;).

I have some records that look like they have been played with those needles... I wondered where they obtained them.

Hence, the name... after you play a record with those and no discernible damage has been done... you say - OMG "Call Me Lucky"
