At 14:39 you can see the guys showing Edison how well the packing crate worked! Records, too!
Lots of fun! Might be a UPS training film, too!

An great video clip thank you for posting it. I like 40 minutes from the factory and am always amazed how much of the original artifacts still remain. Anyone who hasn't been there should add it to their bucket list. Also when your finished your tour you can go see his house just down the street. It is beautiful.

I always think of Edison as rather dour, but at 6:56, I guess he's entitled to his lusty laugh, just like anybody. :(

For one reason or another, the results of the "crash tests" are not shown to mr. Edison... ;) :D

What strikes me most about this movie is how he was severely deaf at that age, and how he still pretended, at least to some degree, to judge the quality of the music that was going to be printed on his records. I've seen this point often stressed in books, but in this movie it really shines through. Indeed the ability to delegate tasks was "not fully developed" in Edison as a C.E.O. :|

If you paid $500 for a phonograph you certainly wouldn't want it to arrive all busted up!edisonplayer
