Here's what's advertised as a "Complete List of the Month's New Edison Diamond Disc Records" form dated 41029 This must be one of the last lists issued.
Several interesting thigs about this piece of advertising
- Indicates only 16 titles released on Diamond disc for the month.
- Indicates 53 titles released the previous month
- Indicates that this particular Edison dealer, the well known Clarence Ferguson was still pushing cylinders!
- Indicates the origin of the avatar used by one of our members, (front cover)
Clicking on the page makes it much bigger and easier to read.
Here is another one, probably a month or so earlier. It required a few more pages. It shows in the current month 20 some releases and around 70 the previous month. The fate of the Diamond Disc was definitely sealed by mid 1929.

Re: Complete list of Diamond Disc new releases Sept?Oct? 1929
Bruce,
Thank you for posting this very late catalog supplement. It strikes me as an agressive move on the part of the dealer to have included the cylinders in this end-of-an-era diamond disc supplement.
I imagine that the average teenager in 1929 probably looked upon cylinder records with curiosity, and that many of them had never seen one spinning on a mandrel.

Note to MordEth: Can you put up a cylinder smiley?
