Not be a nit-picker, but the Victor School machine was a XXV. :)

Mr George, An XXV, with a serial number of 2747 A. Does that sound good---very hard to read the numbers?

I have a Victrola XII motor i would sell.
I have no need for it now since UPS destroyed the XII i was looking forward to own.
( by a hard lesson learned I realize now why sellers are so reluctant to ship)

It's in good running order.
PM if your interested.
Thanks, Dave

Dave, pm sent---I know how you feel, I had an Emerson console delivered with a plaster horn. As it was slid off the truck, plaster was falling out of the box--- from where something punctured a hole through the cardboard surrounding it on a skid/pallet, breaking the leg off the phonograph and damaging the horn. The driver asked me if I wanted to accept it---I said of course, it's an Emerson and I don't believe I will locate another one. I haven't attempted to glue the leg back yet, have a model T jack for the last 15 years holding the machine up. Now you were looking for the second version of the XII--the one with the fancy trim up on top---right? ----Herb

Yes, I was looking for that version until i located the earlier version with the plain cabinet and decided on it instead.
I've learned my lesson... No more shipping. If i cant personally pick it up, I'll try and make arrangements with the good folks here on the forum
to work out getting it to me the best way possible.

I shipped a XII in what I thought was bomb proof packing. The post office drove a lift truck through both boxes. It was a mint condition example. Too bad it survived all those years only to be destroyed.

Sounds like UPS SOP. They actually managed to destroy two cast iron Mercedes standard transmissions... totally separate shipments, too. I refuse to use them if I can avoid it. I ship and receive a lot of bigger items using Greyhound... it's great! Only thing is it's terminal to terminal.
