FOR SALE: Berliner Trademark -No Records- $2250 Shipped USA

Post by gramophone-georg »

I'm getting to one of those points in life where it's time to make some decisions. There's a thread in the British and European Machines section that asks "When is one full?" to which my reply was "when one is dead"... and that could be me if my better half sees any more machines come in without some going away, LOL.

So, without much more ado, I'm offering up one of my longtime friends for sale- my late American Berliner trademark machine.

It does have some repro parts- traveling arm, reproducer, crank, and record clamp. Turntable felt is new.

However, other than that, it presents and plays quite well. I overhauled and beefed up the repro reproducer as the sound was less than ideal, and it came out quite well, I think.

This machine is likely not for the absolute purist, but having this sure beats not having one at all.

Based on market research, I'm offering this for $3700 which I consider a fair price. To sweeten the pot, I'll allow the buyer to select 10 very nice playable Berliner discs of their choice from what I have available, and I'll include an envelope of fresh needles AND FedEx Ground delivery very securely packaged in the lower 48. If you are overseas, I'll charge exact cost less the FedEx charge to go from me in Oregon to where I was born in Brooklyn, NY.

Any questions, please ask. I'll consider offers but please be aware that the "free" shipping and records are only at full price.

I hate to do this as we've been together quite awhile but I am taking solace in that I still have a G&T New Style #3 in the stable, and it's more versatile because it can play 8 and 10" records... Yeah, that's it!

Forgot to add- Layaway available- if you want to pay so much a month I'll hold it with a down and ship when it's paid off. Also have lots of 7" Berliner, Victor, Columbia discs (above and beyond the 10 included) available at extra cost.

What's the deal with the paint on the horn? Is it rusting underneath the paint? Has the horn been repainted?

It appears to be original paint that's just getting thin. Here are some better photos in natural light with no flash. Hope this helps.
