To some extent, it's what they say it is. It's a recorder/reproducer for a Dictaphone. They're sometimes worth buying, if they're cheap, and this one's not cheap enough, because you can sometimes use the stylus in 2 min. reproducers. Don't know what brand this one is, obviously it's not "Edison Columbia" as the auction advertises, but it doesn't matter much anyway.

This is for an Edison Ediphone such as the Pro Technic model it both records and reproduces on the Executive one.
