Victrola turntable pin

What have you used to make a new pin that the turntable seats on if you don't have a box of spare parts? I have an 8-12 that only has half of the pin intact, making the turntable "dip" on the side without the pin when playing a record. Any ideas of what you've used would be helpful. Thanks!
