"O Sole Mio" Francesco Daddi on Gramophone Concert Record
Can anyone confirm when and where this was recorded. I'm guessing 1905-7, maybe earlier but am no expert on the Gramophone co. recordings.

This rather worn recording on YouTube is said to date from 1901, but as no details of the label are shown it cannot be confirmed. Your label suggests that it was recorded in Milan, and the serial number probably dates it to about 1906.

I'm no expert on the UK/European issue Gramophone Company, however, one key identifying sign here is the Recording Angel, which was replaced by Nipper in 1908.

The record cannot be later than 1907, when The Gramophone Company dropped the word "Typewriter" from it's name. 1907 was also the year in which Francesco Daddi emigrated to the USA. By 1908 he was recording for Victor.
