WANTED: G&T Version Of Exhibition Long Throat

Post by gramophone-georg »

I know this is a long shot but I am on a search for the above soundbox in nearly any condition. As long as it has the back and the front, I can scavenge parts off a U.S. Victor to complete. I'm not sure if these were even branded as G&T specifically, but it's to upgrade a G&T New Style No. 3 machine and the ones marked as Victor are not correct.

Let me know if you have anything. Many thanks.

I don't have one, but I can confirm that the early G&T branded Exhibition soundboxes were available in long throat form for travelling arms. An example is illustrated in "His Master's Gramophone" Appendix 6, Figs 9.25 and 9.25a.

Cool, thanks for the info. This is exactly what I am after. Bet it is quite elusive.

I have one that came installed on this machine, so they definitely were made.

BUMP- Very seriously looking- Anyone???

Can anyone even silkscreen a decal I could put on the backing plate of a Victor to "fake it", LOL? I'd way rather have the real thing, though!
