Here is a nearly complete Columbia Q in need of restoration. This machine is still a candidate for restoration, but could also be used to complete a machine that you are restoring. Here is what I see on the machine. I've included a couple of pictures so you can view the condition as well.
The bad - The winding key is broken, but retains both parts. The lift finger on the reproducer is missing. There is copper wire wrapped around the spring barrel (I have not figured out why, but I am sure there is a reason), The paint and nickel are weak.
The good - The spring is good, retains tension and moves the mandrel. The reproducer is in excellent condition. All gears are good. The original governor and weights work well. The machine winds and does play well when a record is positioned on the machine. It has a nice reproduction cone horn.
So, that's about it. A decent machine ready for you to restore, or use to restore your machine.
Please contact me at [email protected] with interest.
The price is $195.00 plus shipping to you.
Thank you
