Heywood Wakefield Destroyed

Post by RolandVV-360 »

This is a sad one here. A mindless victrola bar huckster converted a Heywood Wakefield wicker phonograph into a bar.

Well that relieves me slightly. Thanks for asking the seller. I didn't even know there was a Q&A section of listings on that website!

I can't take credit for the dialog with the seller, but certainly did enjoy it. In these times, where rudeness is tolerated and even modeled at the highest levels of our society, I must guiltily still admit that this example was invigorating.

He says the "Original Speaker" is included, which probably means the horn. If the motor board is still intact under the top mirror it shouldn't be too hard to redo this with generic parts- H/W didn't use great components- the primary quirk was a rubber covered soundbox which (if found) is usually in lousy shape,

The Q&A contents appear to have been erased.

That seems so. Maybe it expired and was automatically erased. Who knows.
