George,
In our earlier discussion prompted by the XII I bought at Orlando, you mentioned the variants of that model. It has been awhile since I've seen a XII and have probably only encountered four of them in my collecting career so my memory is a bit dim. My example has a gold-plated knurled-head machine bolt in each corner of the motor board to secure it to the cabinet. I don't recall these on the other examples I've seen, but perhaps I've just forgotten. Are these found on all XII's? Mine is a plain case model s/n below 3000. Thanks!

Re: Question for George P. re: VV-XII variants
John,
The XIIs I've seen all have those 4 knurled bolts securing the motor board, including the one here (numbered in the 2700s). To be honest, I don't recall if the two oak examples I've encountered had them; I was too focused on the cabinets.

John,
I think George is much-appreciated; I certainly appreciate him as well—he’s already managed to teach me a thing or two about a few machines. And he has given us many photos to drool over—of which I am definitely looking forward to more.
