I made this after I greased the pivot point of the tone arm and had used the penetrating oil on the bearings. An overall strong sound with minimal distortions. I just commented however that one classical vocal I put up today did reveal a metallic ring over a couple loud high notes. That I don't think I can remedy on my own but at this point I doubt I want anyone fiddling with it either.

Terrific! I now need to drag out my Panatrope from the "to-do" pile and try some of the tips and tricks you've suggested. Even in its present untouched condition, it does sound pretty good. I find these one of the best-sounding portables available.
Thanks for the YouTube post.
