FOR SALE/TRADE: VTLA XVI Record Boxes Nice $350
Here is a complete set of boxes from a VTLA. Inside burgandy page is dated Patent April 1908. The set had nine boxes and the one with no letter marking (in this case "J") was a spare I added to make the set full. They are all in excellent condition, tight and square and have all pages within. A + B have some discoloration near each top, but would color nicely with a cleaning/polish. I will trade for a correct set of ALBUMS for a late L door XVI (Model D) which have Gold pulls sleeve style pages. I can deliver to Wayne show in April at No Charge. $350 plus shipping. First to commit will get them. Thanks for looking! John Duffy 860-966-2827, PM or email.

In response to a couple of inqueries: Letters A thru I are all from the same machine and color match perfectly. The "J" box which has no letter is the only one I added to make a complete set. It has an excellent color match as well.
Thanks,
JD

I know these have been sold, but just wondering - could one use a set like these to store 78's? Or are they just too old - even if in good condition - to do that? I've read they tend to suffer under the weight of the full load of records (ten or twelve, I think) they were designed to hold, but could one use them if you only filled them with, say, half that many?

Hi New Yorker,
They are still available.
Yes they work for 78's as that is what they were designed for. These are complete and in excellent shape. While fully loaded they weigh plenty, I perceive that the demise of many of these great boxes was that they were over-loaded, or got damaged while withdrawing them from the cabinet then falling to the ground or opening the clasp as they can be a little tricky. But a half load I would expect no issues IMO. you can reach me via PM, email or phone if you would like them. John 860-966-2827

I would love a set like this; but unfortunately I have a model D as well...
