Mahagony Victrola VI on ebay

Post by melvind »

How rare is a mahogany Victrola VI? Do you think this is really mahogany, or is it similar to Jerry's find in Orlando (http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... =2&t=28836)? Looks like the real thing to me.

The VV-VI was originally offered in both mahogany and oak. Mahogany examples seems to turn up fairly often.

Around 1917 when the VV VI-A came out, the customer had a choice of Mahogany or Oak. Mahogany versions aren't as common as Oak. Victor used real Mahogany on this machine. The price on this machine is on the high market value. But is is a nice, pristine example.
