Saw this trolley card on eBay yesterday.

I'm not that familiar with these.
I always assumed that these were one piece items.
This one is two piece.
Is it actually a trolley card or something else?
The price seems a little high to me, but again, I'm far from knowledgable on these.
Any opinions from other members?

Re: Gene Austin Trolley Card - eBay
This is indeed a Trolley card, it measurements are typical of other trolley cards. It was originally one piece, but has been cut or torn in half. It was originally posted in a frame as a buy-it-now for $245. After I inquired about the condition of the entire card and told the seller that it was actually a Trolley card, he took it out of the frame and increased the Buy-it-now to the current $475. To me, it is very over priced. I guess this will teach me to ask questions

Bill,
Considering that the card has been torn in half, I agree that the card is worth far less than the asking price.
I can't believe that the seller jacked up the price, after you pointed out the condition issue.
eBay- Go figure.

A close look at the 2 pieces shows the printing does not match up. I think it was originally in 2 pieces, either that, or it is 2 halves of 2 different cards. Cliff

Even the original price was too high for this even in good condition. But the new price is completely out of line. Being torn in half it isn't worth much in my opinion. Most of these I have seen go from $150 to $200 in good condition. I will be surprised if this sells.

As far as I know these were always one piece. A two piece trolley card would not have worked very well in a trolley or a bus which is where they originally were used.CDBPDX wrote:A close look at the 2 pieces shows the printing does not match up. Re: Gene Austin Trolley Card - eBay
There is an overlap of printing, the piece on the right duplicates parts of the printing on the left piece. See the O of the word VICTOR and the Y of CITY at the bottom. Also the L of QUALITY. Not likely these overlaps occurred at exactly the place where it was torn in half. Could be parts of 2 different cards...

Since it was cut in half, maybe it should be half price.
