6000? looks nice, but wouldn't that be almost twice what this would typically sell for?

The auction listing states, "This phonograph is for sale locally. We reserve the right to end the listing early without notice if the phonograph sells prior to the end of the auction."

I absolutely hate that. I would never waste my time bidding on an auction with that stipulation.

If the machine is as original as the seller claimed, it cannot date from 1905 as the oak horn was not available until late 1908. A 1905 Monarch Senior would originally have been fitted with a brass witch's hat horn, but such a machine could of course have been updated with a later horn.
