I'm thinking that someone in the past put a busy bee mandrel on this Columbia BV. Does anyone know if a BV would have ever been sold as a Busy Bee originally?

Re: Columbia BV with a Busy Bee mandrel
Seeing no Columbia decal suggests to me that it may have been marketed as a Busy Bee. Although, it has no B.B. label either...
However, to play Busy Bee records would require more than a mandrel swap. The B.B. record is larger in diameter, so the reproducer/stylus must be positioned commensurately higher to compensate. I'm leaning towards this being originally meant to play B.B. records.

The BV was never made into a Busy Bee. The only 2 Busy Bee cylinder players that I know of is the Q variation and the BK. The BK was known as the Queen Bee. I think this was a modified BV.

Would such a modification make it "Bee V"?
