Round Speed Control Knob Problem

I have a VV-XI tabletop and the round speed control knob is adjusted and works fine except the 76 is closest to the turntable with the needle pointing at 76 toward the turntable. Is this correct? Should'nt the needle point out away from the turntable at 76? If it should is there away to turn the round plate correctly?

On my Victor IV I think the 76 is right side up and is at front right corner of the motor board.
