Hi all
Is there much value at all in the above gearing for the columbia jewel. I know they are quite scarce and hard to come by, but would it add much in value to the machine ?
Thanks
regards Stephen

Re: 2/4 minute gearing for columbia Jewel
Stephen, Any Columbia cylinder phonograph with 2/4 minute gears is scarce. From my perspective, I would definitely pay more for a Columbia Graphophone on which the extra gearing was equipped. I have found very few in my years of collecting. I'll always kick myself in the fanny for passing on one that antique dealer had simply because it had been refinished and was missing the Graphophone decal. I went back the next day to buy it and it was gone.

Its about all a 'Jewel' can do to get through a 4-M record!
