I have an original black metal Amberola grille, of the type used in some of the later table models, surplus to my needs. It measures 11 3/16" x 7 ⅜". It originally had a grille cloth attached, now long gone.

The finish is old and it appears to me to have always been black. There are a few small places on the edges where the surface is worn away and I don't see sign of anything between the metal and the black.

This is an Amberola VI grille. Pretty difficult to find and priced very reasonably.
