I thought the 2-65 had gold-plated hardware. Did they manufacture other variations?

Re: 2-65 Hardware Plating
Interesting. I have a 2-65, and it indeed has the gold accents. Perhaps this was a military issue (what war was going on in 1930?) . . . or just a repaint (very thorough) by someone as the gold was wearing off. The horn deflector at the interior rear of the machine is normally also gold.

Yes, this is a normal variation of the 2-65. There was also a green one, and a maroon one, which both have gold lacquered hardware.
I see the green and maroon versions much more often, but I do not know how they rank in terms of rarity. I have this version (I call it the brown or black version), and its much more plain looking than the green and maroon. The only one of this set I don't have is the maroon version, which I'm still hoping to come across
