Edison Labs Museum - Edison's Library

Post by Valecnik »

I also visited the newly opened Edison Labs museum. Here are some pictures of Edison's library in the lab complex.
The time clock Edison punched in on every day. The paper sign on the clock reads something like, "FINAL NOTICE: Cigarette smoking in the labs must be stopped. Anyone found to be smoking will be dismissed" Signed Thomas A. Edison

Edison's desk. The large clock above the mantle supposedly stopped at ~3:20 am at the approximate time he died on the day he died and was never restarted.

Bruce,

Thanks for sharing these pictures! :D Seems like you had a nice trip to NJ.
Makes me want to visit the Edison Labs myself.

Paal.

Paal, If you are ever in the New York area I would highly recommend it not just to phono collectors but to anyone interested in that era. Although I focused on and took more pictures of phono related things, the laboratory had a much broader purpose.
