Hello all,
I saw this little guy posted locally for $50.00. I was excited to see it as it was 4 minutes from my house but when I got there I saw the mess..
The unit is an Alba Gramophone but thats all I know... The Tone arm is a Goldring. I was sure it was added but the only other picture I can find of this online has the same spot on it to put the tonearm. Mine unfortunately was stripped, polyurethaned, grill was tossed out, motorboard was drilled, and parts were lost. like the bottom knobs and whole tonearm assembly. The main spring is shot too.
I dont know why I bought it but I did...
Would anyone have a guess as to what it would take to attain parts for it? I would love to get it all original again.
Would anyone happen to have one that they would be willing to send me a rubbing of the grill?
OR does anyone have a junker I could buy parts off of...

Re: Alba mini console info
Kirk, since this machine is referred to as a "Gramophone" and uses a Swiss Paillard, I'm pretty sure it was made in England or somewhere in continental Europe. You might have better luck posting in that section of the Forum.
Best wishes, Mark

Re: Alba mini console info
Alba gramophones were made by A.J.Balcombe Ltd who also supplied parts and accessories to the trade. Although of no great technical interest, Alba has the distinction of being the only British Gramophone brand still in existence today. You can buy an Alba radio or CD player, but you can no longer buy an HMV, Columbia or Decca.
